“Hello, I just wanted to let you know that we had great success growing the Peruvian Yellow Ginger last year in Central NJ at the Rutgers University Specialty Crop Research Farm. We harvested 438 lbs of ginger from 30 lbs of seed planted, which is approximately 14.6 lbs per lb of seed, or 2.4 lbs per foot at 6 inch spacing. Some of our individual harvested rhizomes weighed in at over 2 lbs each. We grew the crop in low-tech moveable caterpillar tunnels and invited local farmers out to the research farm to learn about growing ginger. “
